Case-Mate Cooler Tote
Case-Mate is expanding from phone cases to affordable fashion bags, packing cubes, and accessories. We chose make a statement by dropping an eye catching cooler, inspired by hand bags.
Drawing from the Fashion Industry
Design inspiration came from luxury handbags. The basket bag shape emerged as an ideal form factor for a statement cooler.
Development
Once the team was happy with sketches and paper prototypes, I used Solidworks to create 3D CAD that could be unrolled into sewing patterns.
Iridescent Pink’s Story
During development, Case-Mate’s color-way, “Soap Bubble” was the top website search term. Soap Bubble products continue to be among our top sellers. With that insight, this iridescent pink became the chosen colorway. Think Eternal Summer of Barbie.
The Case-Mate Cooler Tote has a molded silione base, TPE sides, and 1/2” insulating foam. It can keep contents below 40°F for up to 20 hours. It fits up to two dozen cans, or six wine bottles.
