Wireless X-Ray
OXOS Medical makes wireless handheld X-Rays for Orthopedic and Sports Medicine applications. I contracted with them to help design their current flagship device.
Design Criteria
Wireless X-Ray for handheld and tripod/stand applications.
Touchscreen and mechanical buttons UI.
Design a form and visual style that represents the OXOS brand.
Use in E.R. , physician’s offices, surgical environments, ambulances, and sporting events.
Development
Most X-rays are taken overhead and from the side. Consulting a radiography technician and hand surgeon identified ideal holding positions, like a water kettle or joystick.
Usability Testing Sessions with weighted 3D prints and Rough Prototypes
I continued sketching after my time at OXOS, as a design exercise.

Creating AI renderings from the sketches help to visualize basic CMF, lighting, and 3D forms before CAD modelling.
